Miguel Milló: La Vida Entre Latidos
Presented in collaboration with IBERO University, this anthological series of body canvases embodies Miguel Milló unwavering dedication to fostering a dialogue between creativity and technique, using the human figure as his main mode of expression, by turning the body into a living canvas, which beats and cracks when intervened with elements of nature like mud, pigments, clay, flowers, fruits and seeds originating ephemeral compositions.
The work of Miguel Milló is a constant commitment to the creation of a dialogue between creativity and technique. Since its inception, the human figure has been the vehicle of expression, the body turned into a living canvas, which beats and cracks, when intervened with elements of nature. The dark chiaroscuro that refers us to the baroque, moments that are captured by the shutter of a photographic camera. Milló dares to work on different supports to immortalize his creations, photography as the main one.
He has also dabbled in the glass mosaic, in which he revisits an ancient technique, used by the greeks, romans, until it reached its splendor in Byzantium. Miguel Milló’s iconography is contemporary, characters that move between the profane and the ethereal. Watching his work is a journey into the volume, texture, color and depth of an art in constant movement.
His work has been presented in different cities in America, Asia and Europe such as: Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, San Diego, Palm Springs, Miami, Havana, Sao Paulo, Desmariñas, Kuala Lumpur, Tel Aviv, Taipei and Madrid. In Mexico, hes has exhibited his work in important cities like Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Querétaro, San Miguel de Allende among others.
The artistic and conceptual proposal of Miguel Milló is in a constant search for equality and universality, hence his interest in ancient cultures and the desire to generate a constant communication bridges through his artistic creation with the present. He has a special interest and sensitivity for social actions, which has led him to participate actively with the ·Grupo de los 16” Foundation that benefits the Mexican Red Cross, the “Mexico Vivo” Foundation, which support causes for the fight against HIV, as well as the donation of work to “Mexfam” Foundation that promotes women’s rights.
