José Emilio Pacheco: In His Own Words
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10
4:00 PM (DC) - 3:00 PM (CDMX)
Free admission, registration required
As part of an effort to create more collaborative work between embassies, the Ibero-American Cultural Attachés Association (AACIA) has called on its associates to design a series of literary talks around the many authors that have recorded their voices for the The PALABRA Archive of the Library of the Congress. In this context, Mexico participates on this important project with a conversation about José Emilio Pacheco’s work as a poet and novelist and his contributions as a Distinguished Professor at the University of Maryland.
This session draws from his poetic work and will go on to remember his contributions as a novelist and professor, thanks to the generous participation of top scholars like Professor Emerita Sandra M. Cypess, a long-time colleague of José Emilio Pacheco, at the University of Maryland, and Ignacio Sánchez-Prado (Washington University at Saint Louis).
Presented by: The Embassy of Mexico in the U.S., the Mexican Cultural Institute DC, and the Ibero-American Cultural Attachés Association (AACIA).
Language: English with simultaneous interpretation to Spanish.
