Passport DC at the Mexican Cultural Institute
Don’t miss Cultural Tourism DC’s Annual Around the World Embassy Tour, Passport DC! Passport DC commemorates International Cultural Awareness Month in the District of Columbia.
This year, the Embassy of Mexico’s Mexican Cultural Institute will be open to take part in the festivities. The institute will have on display its current artistic exhibit: Underlying Borders.
- There will be performances by the dance group Corazón Folklórico at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
- Traditional Mexican cuisine will also be served, at a cash only bar.
- Children are welcome to partake in a painting workshop with Mexico’s famous, grana cochinilla. Every hour for 30 minutes, the worskhop will focus on the ancient use of cochineal insects for traditional watercolor paintings.
- Beyond the exhibits and performances, visitors will have a chance to explore the historic mansion and its famous murals.
